A support grid for applying wall rendering, e.g. plaster, tiling cement etc., has a wire mesh with grip plates etc at the mesh nodes and with at least some of the linking wires between nodal points having wire loops to provide flexibility. The wire loops comprise simple windings and are applied to both directions in the mesh structure.
