Self operated switch with electronic overload function for an electrical unit especially a motor starter uses values of operating current and permitted overload time

A self-operated switch (1) with an electronic overload function for an electronic unit comprises means for giving a value for the measured operating current (4) and for the maximum allowed time (3) for a given multiple overload. A reliability test is obtained from a combination of these values and non-permitted values are shown by an indicator (2). Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an electrical motor starter comprising the above; (B) an overload relay as above; and (C) a soft starter as above.
