The apparatus has a locking device with a transverse strut (6) which is fixed in a withdrawable-part rack, and a stop (13) which is fixed to a power circuit breaker. The strut and the stop engage with one another in a tilted position of the circuit breaker, in the event of a short circuit, such that the circuit breaker is locked in the rack. The strut and the stop do not engage with one another in an inserted position of the breaker.
