A holder holds an ink cartridge (611) inserted by predetermined stroke. A rotation-sliding mechanism applies press-force required for loading the cartridge, by rotating a lever arm and by using a leverage principle, and converts the rotation of the arm for moving to specific stroke. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) recording apparatus; (2) liquid ejection apparatus; (3) liquid container; and (4) ink cartridge.
