Arrangement for determining the position of a mobile unit, has at least a mobile unit with an interface to a back office data processing unit. The back office unit has means for calculating the position of the mobile unit using pseudo-range data. An independent claim is made for a system for determining the position of a mobile unit, whereby the mobile unit is configured to transfer a pseudo-range measurement to the back office, which then calculates the position of the mobile unit based on the pseudo- range data.
