The door has a reading device whose antenna (1) integrated in the front side of the door receives a signal from a transponder (4) carried by a pet animal. The transponder stores data combinations for opening the door. A personal computer evaluates if the animal has authorization to enter the door based on the combination identified by the device from the received signal. A lift operated by a motor opens the door upon authorization.
