The compressor has a crankshaft for actuating a piston rod (9) and formed as a blower (6) that produces a large air flow in the compressor. The blower rotates with the help of a drive unit (2) e.g. electric motor, that is fastened in a housing (3) by fastening components. A cylinder (4) provided with cooling fins is fixed in the housing. Sheet metal components are attached for conducting the air flow into areas of the cooling fins.
