The honing tool has a tube (2) with slits (2') in its free end. The free end has a cutting sleeve (4) having an adjusting rod (5). The tube has an opposing end (9) connected to the end of a tensioning rod (1) with an inner diameter greater than the outer diameter of the honing tube. The radial spacing between the inner bore face of the tensioning tube and the outer face of the honing tube is from one hundredth to one half of a millimetre.
