The probe (2) detects damages on the inner lining (7) of a metal tank (4). The probe is electrically separated from the metal tank storing an aggressive medium (10). The probe is made of metallic material having higher chemical stability than the metal tank with respect to the stored aggressive medium. An independent claim is also included for the metal tank.
