The seal comprises a flap housing (11) with a transmission channel (14), a hinged flap (12) and a drive installation for the flap. A sealing strip (25) runs along the side (16) facing the channel, the front side (22) or back side (23) of flap. It is covered by a cover strip (20) such that at least one sealing strip protrudes beyond the cover strip and when the flap is closed it forms a seal between flap and transmission channel.
