Describes a method for regeneration of a catalytic solution redox at least in part, comprising at least one complexing agent of a polyvalent metal associated with the solution in which is circulated in a regeneration zone, the solution in the presence of a gas containing oxygen, in the regeneration conditions appropriate and an effluent is recovered from the regeneration at least partly oxidized. The concentration of dissolved oxygen in the regeneration effluent is adjusted and the operating parameters so as to minimize the degradation of the complexing agent and so as to be regenerated at least in part, the catalytic solution. Application to a process for desulfurization of a load of a gas containing hydrogen sulphide by a catalytic solution redox.
