The unit has a radio frequency identification (RFID) unit (2) for storing information related to the street furniture unit and including a substrate on which an integrated circuit and an antenna are disposed. The integrated circuit is coupled to the antenna which transmits signals carrying the information. The RFID unit is positioned in a hollow housing held by a screw (1). An independent claim is also included for a maintenance system comprising a street furniture unit.
