PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road guidance display device displaying an image reflecting actual size of the shape of a road ahead of a vehicle.;SOLUTION: The front of a vehicle is photographed by a periphery image photographing part 111 to obtain an image of the periphery. By an image conversion part 108, the image is converted into a modified image through coordinate conversion reflecting actual size based on a coordinate conversion expression previously stored in a coordinate conversion expression storage part 107. Guide arrows for route guidance produced by a guide arrow image producing part 109 are combined therewith by an image combining part 110 and displayed on a display part 112. Not only in the event of coordinate conversion reflecting actual size but in some cases, coordinate conversion expressions can be used for further performing similar figure conversion with a constant ratio between longitudinal and lateral expansion/compression rates so that sense of distance is easily obtained, longitudinally and laterally expanding/compressing the modified image at irregular intervals, or making the image laterally longer as it gets away from a center line. Further, it is also possible to previously provide a conversion table made by tabulating operation results of the coordinate conversion expression in place of the coordinate conversion expression itself.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
