PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification method for a moving object, identifying a semitransparent moving object.;SOLUTION: This identification method for the moving object extracting a change area by use of a difference between at least two images each having different time to detect the moving object inside the images, and identifying the moving object has: an arithmetic process for finding differences in an average luminance and a correlation coefficient of a luminance value between the two images; an opaque moving object identification process for deciding whether the correlation coefficient calculated in the arithmetic process is smaller than a first threshold value or not, and deciding that the change area is an opaque moving object when deciding that it is smaller than the first threshold value; a semitransparent moving object identification process for deciding whether the correlation coefficient is larger than the first threshold value, and the difference of the average luminance calculated in the arithmetic process is smaller than a second threshold value or not, and deciding that the change area is the semitransparent moving object when deciding it is smaller than the second threshold value; and a noise identification process for deciding that the change area is noise when deciding that the difference of the average luminance is larger than the second threshold value in the semitransparent moving object identification process.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
