PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inhibition-ratio improver of a nano filtration membrane or a reverse osmosis membrane, an improvement method of the nano filtration membrane or the reverse osmosis membrane, the nano filtration membrane or the reverse osmosis membrane with the inhibition-ratio improved, a water treatment method and a water treatment apparatus, using the nano filtration membrane or the reverse osmosis membrane.;SOLUTION: The inhibition-ratio improver of the nano filtration membrane or the reverse osmosis membrane has a compound having a polyalkylene glycol chain of the weight average molecular weight of 2,000-6,000. The improvement method of the nano filtration membrane or the reverse osmosis membrane is characterized in that an aqeous solution of the compound having the polyalkylene glycol chain, which is obtained by diluting the inhibition-ratio improver with water, is made to contact the nano filtration membrane or the reverse osmosis membrane. The inhibition-ratio of the nano filtration membrane or the reverse osmosis membrane is improved by this method.
