PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an easy and economical experimental painting operation in case of carrying out the painting operation such as an experimental spraying and blowing with some water paint to a surface to be painted of a painting substrate used on trial in order to judge an advisability about the water paint. PSOLUTION: A painting tester 1 of the water paint 2 is provided with a support 7 capable of supporting the painting substrate 6 provided with the surface to be painted 5 which is experimentally painted, an air supply arrangement 10 discharging air 8 in which a temperature and humidity are controlled to the predetermined value so that the air 8 turn to an air layer 9 flowing in one direction A along the surface to be painted 5, and a spray nozzle 11 spraying and blowing the water paint 2 under test so as to traverse the air layer 9 to the surface to be painted 5.
