PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily edit map information by efficiently acquiring image data etc. at a place where the map information has changed.;SOLUTION: A map information editing device acquires the image data etc. from a map information research device mounted in a vehicle, and updates a map database. A change information acquiring means acquires change information, indicating that the map information on a road path has changed, a section analysis means analyzes a section in which research is required based on the change information, and a section information providing means provides the map information research device with section information corresponding to the analyzed section. An image data acquiring means acquires an image data from the map information research device which acquires the section information. According to the map information editing device, the image data, at a place where the map information changes are acquired efficiently and completely, and the map information can be edited easily.
