PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Pareto new area search technique for suppressing useless calculation and searching a new Pareto area. PSOLUTION: The Pareto new area search device is equipped with: a two-dimensional plot preparation means which when there is a system having the responses of a first characteristic value and a second characteristic value each corresponding to a plurality of restriction elements, generates a plurality of samplings being the combination of the restriction elements and characteristics of the system and prepares a two-dimensional plot; a classification means for classifying the samplings by the similarity of the characteristic values and forming a plurality of clusters; an initial Pareto front preparation means for extracting an initial Pareto front from the two-dimensional plot; an extraction part for comparing the restriction elements of the respective clusters constituting the initial Pareto front and extracting a Pareto principle; a search direction setting means for arbitrarily setting the search direction of the Pareto new area on a two-dimensional coordinate system; a change tendency extraction means for extracting the change tendency of the restriction elements; and a search means for generating the sampling in a direction along the change tendency and searching a new Pareto group.
