PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparation of cellulose acylate solution having a high productivity, and suitable for production of a highly productive cellulose acylate film for optical use, which has an excellent surface quality (optical uniformity and low scattering property), in particular having a high optical anisotropy such as a compensation film for VA (vertical alignment) type liquid crystal display.;SOLUTION: The method for preparation of cellulose acylate solution comprises dissolution of cellulose acylate particles having 22-43° of angle of repose, 0.30-0.75 g/cm3 of bulk density and having ≤3 mass% of particles with ≥1.7 mm of particle diameter. The cellulose acylate preferably, satisfies following inequalities, 2.0≤DS2+DS3+DS6≤3.0 and/or DS6/(DS2+DS3+DS6)≥0.315, wherein the DS2 is a degree of substitution of the hydroxyl group on the 2nd position of a glucose unit, DS3 is a degree of substitution of the hydroxyl group on the 3rd position of the glucose unit, and DS6 is a degree of substitution of the hydroxyl group on the 6th position of the glucose unit.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
