PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage and reactive power control system capable of appropriately maintaining voltages of consumers according to operational statuses and load statuses in an electric system, and performing economical operation such as reduction in transmission loss.;SOLUTION: This voltage and reactive power control system includes a plurality of individual voltage and reactive power control devices (individual VQC devices) 100, 200 and 300 and information transmission devices among them. The individual VQC devices grasp the operational statuses of their equipment for the transmission and transformation of electric power, and continuously detect active and reactive power values and voltage values. On the basis of the information and the variation of information during changing the operational statuses, the individual VQC devices calculate the system constant of the electric power system, an appropriate desired voltage value, and a reactive power supply, and transmit the system constants to all the adjacent individual VQC devices through the information transmission devices.
