PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device having a simple structure, easy in installation, and having an integrated air bag module.;SOLUTION: The safety device for an automobile has the air bag module integrable with a vehicle seat 12. The air bag module has a premanufactured modular unit. This modular unit can treat the whole collectively, and has an inflatable air bag 14 capable of functioning as a side air bag. This modular unit has a gas generator 16 and structural members 24 and 26.
