PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article such as a plastic film, a plastic container, a glass container or the like on which letters and patterns or the like can be printed without detriment to various characteristics using a conventional printing ink and from which printed matters can be easily released and removed by a treatment with an aqueous solution when recycled and to provide a method for releasing and removing a printed matter from the article. ;SOLUTION: The article has on its surface a releasing layer on which a printed matter is formed and the releasing layer is made of a material which becomes water-wellable or water-soluble by at least a neutralization treatment.
