PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for manufacturing marked metallic bands by which marking which is suitable to the working method, design or the like on the side of users to the defect of a metallic band is performed.;SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the marked metallic band for performing the marking on the metallic band by deciding whether the marking is necessary or unnecessary to the candidates of defects obtained by the defect test of the metallic band, in this manufacturing method of the marked metallic band, when performing the marking on the metallic band, a marking standard is established on the basis of reference informations of one or more classes included in the informations of orders received of the metallic band and the marking is performed on the metallic band by deciding whether the marking is necessary or unnecessary about each candidate of the defect on the basis of the marking standard.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
