PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mesh shape determining method, a mesh generating method, a mesh generating device, a computer program and a recording medium for surely generating a two-dimensional or three-dimensional mesh in a short time.;SOLUTION: The mesh is generated with points corresponding to points on the surface of a shape model expressing two-dimensional or three-dimensional graphic shape, as nodal points (S05). A mesh boundary set collecting lines or planes serving as the boundaries of respective elements constituting the mesh is created (S06). A shape boundary set collecting lines or planes dividing the surface of a shape model is created (S07). When each of the lines or planes in the shape boundary set corresponds to neither the line nor plane in the mesh boundary set (S08: NO), a node point corresponding to a point on the non- corresponding line or plane is added into the mesh (S11), and this process is repeated until the mesh can express the graphic shape.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
