One aspect of the invention relates to a system for on-line production of decorated edible bars comprising, a conveying means to carry preformed edible bars from inlet to outlet of said system; means for spraying the preformed edible bars with an edible adhesive material as it traverses through said system; a rotary valve system for depositing edible decorative material on sprayed preformed edible bar as it traverses through said system; and a drying station for drying the edible adhesive material to ensure adherence of the edible decorative material on the preformed edible bar. Another aspect of the invention relates to a method for on-line production of decorated edible bars comprising the steps of spraying preformed edible bars with an adhesive material, deposition of edible decorative material on to the sprayed bar using a rotary valve system and drying the edible adhesive material.
