The invention relates to a process for synthesis of mono and bimetalic nanoparticles, comprising reacting suitable metal salts and reducing extracts from different parts of various plants at a temperature in the range of 15-100°C., such that the under the reducing action of the said extract the metal ions are reduced into metal nanoparticles with different size and shape in aqueous medium.
