Use of a recombinant adenoviral vector of subgroup C for the in vitro delivery of a heterologous nucleic acid to a mesenchymal stem cell, wherein said recombinant adenoviral vector is provided with a tropism for mesenchymal stem cells, said adenoviral vector comprising a tropism determining part of a fiber protein derived from a subgroup B adenovirus, and wherein said subgroup B adenovirus is selected from the group consisting of adenovirus 11, -16, -35 and 51.
