The invention relates to a process for increasing the distance walked by a person, between two successive steps, and to a device for applying said process, said walking device being implicitly used for increasing the movement speed, at the same steps frequency. According to the invention, the device for applying the process consists of a platform (1) attached to the foot by means of some bindings (2), of an orthopedic shoe heel (3) fixed on the upper side of the platform (1), which is provided with a convex sole, a valve (4), a spiral-shaped sole (5) eccentrically positioned on the anterior side of the platform on an articulation O1, with the axle perpendicular to the walking direction and also provided with a recess on the centre of the walking surface, for allowing in any moment the orthopedic shoe heel (3), by reversely rotating the foot sole, to come into contact with the ground: if it is necesarry to stop the movement in case of an emergency, there are optionally disposed, tangentially to the surface of the spiral-shaped sole (5), on the upper side of the valve (4), two rolls (6) which can freely rotate on the axles, and for bringing the valve (4) in the initial position, there is mounted thereon, centred on the articulation O1, a spiral-shaped spring (7).
