A PROCESS OF PRODUCING NANOCOMPOSITE WHEREIN AN INORGANIC LAYERED HYDROXIDE (LDH) IS USED AS A MATRIX HOSTING A PLANT GROWTH REGULATOR CONSISTING OF 1- NAPTHALENEACETATE (NAAA) WHEREIN THE PROCESS CONSISTS OF PREPARING AQUEOUS SOLUTION BY DISSOLVING (ZN(NO3)2 AND A1(NO3)3 AT MOLAR RATIO SATISFYING THE CONDITION OF 2R5 TO FORM A STABLE LAYERED DOUBLE HYDROXIDE (LDH) IN WHICH ANIONS ARE INTERCALATED; ADDING 0.05 M OF NAA WHILE MAINTAINING THE pH AT ABOUT 7 BY ADDITION OF ALKALINE SOLUTION WITH STIRRING UNDER INERT ATMOSPHERE FOR 20 MINUTES ; AGING SLURRY OBTAINED AT 7O°C FOR 18 HR; PURIFYING THE NANOCOMPOSITE FROM THE SLURRY. THE NANOCOMPOSITE IS FORMED BY SPONTANEOUS SELF ASSEMBLY METHOD. THE NANOCOMPOSITE IS SUBJECTED TO A CONTROLLED RELEASE FORMULATION OF NAA. THE PROCESS COMPRISES OF DISSOLVING THE NANOCOMPOSITE IN AQUEOUS SOLUTION TO RELEASE NAA INTO AQUEOUS . A PLANT GROWTH REGULATOR (NAA) IS RELEASED IN A CONTROLLED MANNER WHEREIN THE NAA IS HOSTED IN A MATRIX COMPRISING OF ZN-A1 LAYERED HYDROXIDE (LDH).(FIG 3)
