The present invention concerns a method for musicalizing a phenomenon being monitored on the basis of a series of data items representing said phenomenon. Said method comprises the following stages of: obtaining one or more values of one or more variables from mathematical processing of said series of data items assigning a basic musical characteristic to said value generating, with the aid of programmable means, a musical composition based on a general structure determined by said basic musical characteristic according to established musical composition precepts, and emitting said musical composition in audible form. In this last stage, the perceptible variations in the general structure when listening to said musical composition provide information relating to the variations in said series of data items.
