A print character selector of a printing endless bandin a printer capable of selecting a specified print character (7A)ac-cording to whether the printing endless bands (7) are for all aroundprinting or half around printing by preventing an excessive rotatingforce from acting on the printing endless bands (7) themselves tolimit the rotations of the printing endless bands (7) for preventingreference letters (7B) from being contaminated, characterized inthat, to fulfill both a half around printing function and a full aroundprinting function by rotatably installing moderation blocks (6) asprinting pressure receiving members, the selection of the printingcharacters (7A) is limited by the engagement of the drivingpro-truded parts (7E) of the printing endless bands (7) with the elasticparts (14B) of movable stopper members (14) and, when the drivingprotruded parts (7E) are not engaged with the elastic parts (14B),the selection of the printing characters (7A) is allowed and themod-eration blocks (6) receive a printing pressure applied to the printingcharacters (7A).
