In a ring oscillator arrangement having at least three first oscillator elements (200-210) forming an oscillator ring, provision is made in particular for at least one of the at least three first oscillator elements (200-210) to be connected to a delay chain formed from second oscillator elements (215-235, 240-270, 275-300), wherein, by means of the outputs of at least one of the at least three first oscillator elements (200-210), not only the respectively following first oscillator element (205, 210, 200) but also the respectively associated delay chain (215-235, 240-270, 275-300) are excited, and, by means of suitable taps (,1'-,2n') at the oscillator ring (200-210) and at the delay chains (215-235, 240-270, 275-300), a temporal resolution capacity is provided which corresponds to fractions of the gate operating times.
