The rigidity of a material for vibrating plates, dust caps, and subcones is improved to enhance sound quality as a speaker. To this end, paper containing a material prepared by reducing the beating degree of bamboo fibers obtained from bamboo of one or more years in bamboo age to a microfibrilated state, is prepared, and is used for the construction of a vibrating plate for a speaker, a dust cap, and a subcone. Further, paper containing at least 2% by weight of a fiber A prepared by accelerating feathering of the surface of the stem of fibers having a stem diameter of not more than 30 μm to fuzz the stem surface to a branch form of not more than 1 μm in diameter is used for the construction of a vibrating plate for a speaker and a dust cap.
