The invention relates to a device for brachytherapy with at least one radiation source (2) for introduction into the body on the tip of a flexible guide wire (1), permitting simple and safe working. The guide wire (1) may be rolled on and off a rotating spool body (3) in a helical groove thereon and run from there, through a screen (15), to an outlet, from which introduction of the radiation source (2) occurs by means of a catheter (K). The rotation of the spool body (3) and thus the movement of the radiation source (2) is ratcheted.
