A slope block for protecting an embankment of a river is provided to construct the slope block simply and firmly, and to form the eco-friendly appearance by cultivating plants. A front of a slope block for protecting an embankment of a river is closed, and a rear part of the slope block is opened. A seating groove(30) is formed by inclining and contacting a seating surface(10) to a support surface(20), and a planting hole(40) is inclined downward and formed in front of the seating groove. A friction groove is formed as the shape of the seating groove, and protruded. A friction projection(50a) is placed in the seating surface of the slope block arranged in a lower part, and a friction projection(50b) is formed in an upper part of the slope block. The friction projection is formed in the upper part of a side, and engaged with the friction groove of the other embankment block to connect the embankment blocks.
