A method for designing displacement of a tall building is provided to process displacement design of the tall building by implementing an automatic displacement design model controlling displacement of tall building and displacement between stairs, and control the displacement by redistributing a material quantity with a simple calculation. A structure analysis program determines an initial model of a design target structure by receiving modeling information from a user. The material quantity is redistributed while varying the material quantity of the initial model through a redistribution technique, relation between the material quantity and the displacement is found, and the displacement between the stairs of the initial model is controlled. The most approximate cross section to the cross section obtained by the controlled model is selected and a member satisfying member force generated from external force is found. The final strength is designed after the displacement and the displacement between the stairs of the designed model are set by using the structure analysis program, and the displacement-designed model is verified.
