A method for manufacturing polyethylene terephthalate bulky continuous filament for a carpet is provided to reveal the high bulky property, thereby solving a non-uniform problem in dyeing. Polyethylene terephthalate polymer is processed by the melt spinning at 245-285 degrees in centigrade and passes through a spinnerette(1). The polymer is cooled by air with speed of 0.2-1.0 m/sec at a cooling area(3). The cooling temperature is controlled by 10-35 degrees in centigrade. After cooling, the spin finish process is performed by a finish applicator(4) so that the lubrication property of a filament is enhanced. The filament is supplied from supply rollers(5,6) to a drawing roller(7). Thereafter, the filament is passed through a texturing unit(8).
