摘要

A compound semiconductor optoelectronic device of a cavity-resonant quantum structure is provided to increase an external quantum efficiency by confining generated photons using a photonic crystal reflector inserted at both end portions of a light emitting active layer. A light emitting diode or a surface light emitting laser diode include a light emitting active layer of a quantum well structure(4). A plurality of photonic crystal reflectors are installed at upper and lower portions of the light emitting active layer. The plurality of photonic crystal reflectors(15,16) are used for confining a plurality of photons in a space of the light emitting diode or the surface light emitting laser diode, wherein the plurality of photons are generated from the light emitting active layer.
