Compositions having inhibitory effect on induction of white hair and positive effect on induction of black hair

A composition comprising an extract of Asterina pectinifera is provided to prevent induction of white hair beforehand and promoting induction of black hair by showing excellent hair melanocyte cell activity and melanogenesis promoting effect. The composition for inhibiting white hair and promoting induction of black hair comprises 0.001-10 wt.% of an extract of Asterina pectinifera, which is prepared by using at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of water, methanol, ethanol, ethyl acetate, hexane, acetonitrile, acetone, 1,3-butyleneglycol, and a mixture thereof. The composition further comprises 0.001-5 wt.% of at least one active oxygen generation inhibiting agent selected from the group consisting of quercetin, rutin, taxifolin, kaempferol, myricetin, curcumin, resveratrol, arecoline, apigenine, wogonin, luteolin and tectorigenin.
