A carbon nanosphere having at least one opening is provided to achieve the high surface usage, excellent electric conductivity, and low mass transfer resistance, thereby obtaining the high current density and the high cell voltage with a smaller amount of metal catalyst per unit area of a fuel cell electrode. The method for preparing a carbon nanosphere with at least one opening(18) comprises the steps of: heating an organic metal compound(10), such as copper tartrate having a concentration of about 12.5g to about 100g per gram of the carbon nanosphere formed, in a preheating region(20), heating the resulting organic metal compound, a dilution gas(12) such as nitrogen, and a hydrocarbon gas(14) such as acetylene in a reaction furnace(22) to grow a carbon nanosphere(16), and treating the resulting carbon nanosphere with an acid(24).
