In a thermofixing method for deforming and/or smoothing the weave and/or stitch structure of a workpiece (W) of fibers with partially crystalline supermolecular structure, by heating the fibers by ultrasonic energy using a sonotrode (3) on one side of the workpiece and another sonotrode or anvil on the other, the working surface of the anvil or second sonotrode has an indentation with outlet side width corresponding to the final product width.
