Surgical fixing element has holding arm carrying a retaining member which sticks out crosswise from the holding arm. Holding arm is operable by a through hole (18,20) of a surgical container (10). Fixing element has a safeguard device for its movable holding on a bar shaped element separating two through holes of a surgical container from each other.
