The method involves assigning security configuration to a security system in a local computer network (1), which is connected to a firewall computer (21), where each security configuration consists of configuration data, which represents configuration information. The configuration data is written in a configuration database. Assigned data, which represents the assignment of the configuration data to the security configuration, is written in the database. Activation data, which represents a time point of unblocking the configuration data, is written in the configuration data bank.
