The method involves having a background program monitoring of a system clock, where in case of an alteration of the clock taking place, a log of correction direction and range takes place. An application program receives the clock time and the alteration of the clock time, being logged by the background program. A relevant correction of the received clock is accomplished and the application program according to the correction direction and the range of the alteration taken place uses the current time as the corrected time.
