The device has an abseiling device, which decouples from a track rope or hauling rope during a stop of a passenger gondola (4). The abseiling device abseils the gondola, which is connectedly held with the track rope, with a breakable speed in a direction of soil after the decoupling. The abseiling device is integrated in a suspending mechanism between a carriage and the gondola and connects the carriage and the gondola during an abseil movement by a steel cable.
