A converter (1) has a thyristor (2), direct current busbars (6a, 6b) and alternating current busbars (10-12), where the converter and/or thyristor are electrically contacted by the bus bars. The bus bars are formed from a pure aluminum and/or an aluminum alloys, and are tinned and galvanized. A connecting plate electrically contacts the thyristor and/or a heat sink in a direct manner, where the heat sink is associated to the thyristor. An independent claim is also included for a switchboard including a power converter.
