A container (3) for receiving road grit (2) has a discharge opening (6) under which a conical returning mechanism (11) is disposed. The returning mechanism closes the discharge opening when not in use. A carrying handle (8) allows simple management. The returning mechanism is biased by a spring to close the discharge opening. The returning mechanism overcomes the resetting force of the spring through a manually operable misalignment mechanism to open the discharge opening, with the distance between the returning mechanism and discharge opening being variable.
