A holding shoe fixed to the tailpiece of the instrument has a holding sleeve which can be inserted into an opening in the tailpiece and detained by a screw. The holding sleeve has an internal thread for an adjusting screw. A tuning lever is pivotably mounted on the holding shoe, one end of the lever abutting the end of the adjusting screw protruding from the holding sleeve, while the other end has a hook for holding a string of the instrument. A fixing member which detains the holding shoe on the tailpiece is arranged spaced apart from the holding sleeve.
