The system has individual table legs (2) which are fastened to a table top (1) by axially aligned plugging fastener. An automatically actuated fixed holding mechanism (5) holds the leg after introducing the leg into the fastener. The fastener has axially effecting cone hole (4) for accommodating cone bolts (3). A radially effective positioning unit specifies the rotation direction of the leg.
