A cast composite element comprises a porous iron based substance (11) incorporating a large number of pores and a coating element (12) applied by gluing made of a metal of which the main constituent is at least one element chosen from aluminium and magnesium. The porous substance also includes a connector (11b) placed close to the boundary between the porous substance and the coating element, with a predetermined porosity, and a very solid reinforcing element (11a) placed in the porous substance devoid of the connector and with a porosity lower than that of the conductor. The connector is impregnated with the coating element by gluing and solidifies with it so that it is linked firmly with the porous substance and the coating element. Independent claims are also included for: (A) the fabrication of this composite cast element; (B) the iron based porous substance used in this composite cast element; (C) the fabrication of the iron based porous substance; (D) a pressurised housing incorporating this composite cast element; (E) the fabrication of this housing; (F) a compressor component for the admission and evacuation of fluid at high pressure, incorporating the composite cast element; (G) a compressor incorporating this component.
